WINDHOEK – IB696 Fashion Organisation, along with Sweep Violence Foundation, will tomorrow host a charity fundraising event at Palm Tree Park for victims of gender-based violence (GBV).
The summer bash aims to raise funds for the Sweep Violence Foundation to build a safe haven for victims of GBV across the country. Through this facility GBV victims can receive basic counselling and shelter when they encounter difficulties in their relationships.
Joshua Johannes, a young upcoming entrepreneur, is the co-founder of the IB696 Fashion Organisation that recently signed a joint venture with Meriam Kaxuxwena, an international award-winning model.
Johannes told New Era that they partnered with Sweep Violence Foundation for this event in order to raise awareness among the youth to minimise GBV incidence.
Furthermore, he said Sweep Violence Foundation will launch an SMS competition with laptops, cellphones and shopping vouchers worth N$50 000 to be won every second week and a grand prize of a BMW 320i that will be awarded at the end of November this year.
The competition aims to reach more than 500 000 SMSes in order to achieve the target amount.
Drinks, food and braai plates will be sold during the event and IB696 will exhibit its designs and some of its products will also be on sale.
Johannes urged the public to turn out in numbers in support of the charity venture.
“The more funds we raise for the charity the earlier we can build the charity house, therefore, individuals and businesses can come on board so we can overcome the issue once and for all,” said Johannes.
