By Tapiwa Mkabeta WINDHOEK Behind every successful concert is a star performer, and behind every organised show is an experienced management team. With the new urban lively music came Dandani Entertainment, an events or-ganising company. Dandani Entertainment, the brainchild of Dandani Boois, is one of the few success stories on events management on the local music industry. His company has already started putting plans in motion to entertain music lovers throughout the year, organising and hosting four shows, one every three months. Boois’s company has since its inception in 2004 produced a theatre production, “Nujoma 59” as one of the company’s entertainment contributions to society. All events organised so far have created a large following, at shows staged at Windhoek, Ongwediva and Oshakati. According to Boois, his company of which he is the sole owner, has as its main objective to present unprecedented and spectacular entertainment to help satisfy the entertainment needs of the Namibian masses. Another highlight of the company was a music festival in 2005 at the Ongwediva Trade Fair Centre, which drew about 3 000 fans and became the biggest music show staged in northern Namibia. In the past two years Dandani Entertainment has successfully managed shows with performances from artists like South Africa’s Malaika, Brown Dash, Mzekezeke, Brickz, Mzambiya and Msawawa, and Namibia’s Matongo Family, Sunny Boy and many other artists. Boois hopes his company will become a strong entertainment force in the country and the region. Watch out for this young promoter in the future.
