Neshuku calls on investors to develop Eengodi

ELAMBO - Eengodi constituency councillor Protasiu Neshuku has encouraged investors and business people to come and invest or bring services to his constituency in the Oshikoto region, as it is completely behind in terms of development.

He said while officially opening the Metsave shopping complex at the Elambo village on Friday that the lack of development has resulted in the residents having to travel long distances to Omuthiya and Ondangwa to access various services.

“We travel up to 80 kilometres to go and buy what we need at Omuthiya because we do not have any shops here,” he lamented, adding that the people require building materials, filling stations, printing shops, an internet cafe and many more.

Neshuku said the constituency also does not have any settlement, village or town council, hence the need for businesspeople to come to especially Elambo village, which has enough space that can be used as a business area.

The Eengodi constituency has more than 80 villages, and will now benefit from the newly-constructed complex as well as the Okankolo and Nehale Lyampingana constituencies.

Elambo village headman Samson Nghiteeka commended Metsave for building a complex in the village, as they have also contributed to employment- creation in the community.

A total of 30 people, ranging from cashiers, guarding officers, handymen, store managers and general labourers have been employed.

The complex can accommodate five shops, and currently has a grocery shop.
