Online Agri series to focus on AfCFTA

Bank Windhoek is set to host an informative live talk show on international trade, which will place a special emphasis on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Minister of Industrialisation and Trade Lucia Iipumbu will be the key speaker at the event, which will take place on 19 October and will be broadcast live on Bank Windhoek’s Facebook and LinkedIn social media platforms.

The AfCFTA is a game-changing initiative to foster economic integration across the African continent. Bank Windhoek’s live talk will bring together experts, thought leaders, and industry professionals to explore its significance, challenges, and opportunities.

The panel of speakers includes experts on international trade and AfCFTA.  The topics to be discussed will include vital milestones, Namibia’s implementation of the AfCFTA Agreement, and how all Namibian stakeholders can work together to make the agreement even more beneficial for the agricultural sector.

Agriculture processing as an enabler for continental value chains and how it impacts Namibia’s AfCFTA implementation efforts is one of the discussion points.

“As a truly Namibian bank, we understand the agriculture sector’s important role in the Namibian economy. We take pride in contributing to the development of the agriculture sector through the Bank Windhoek Agriculture Series,” said Jacquiline Pack, Bank Windhoek’s Marketing and Corporate Communication Services Executive Officer.

Since 2018, Bank Windhoek has hosted various agriculture talk series to inform interested parties about relevant agriculture trends and
topics. The series creates a platform where experts in the sector can share knowledge and contribute to the commitment and drive of the agriculture sector.

“Namibia has been actively participating in the negotiation process and, overall, in the shaping of the AfCFTA developmental agenda, including the launch of Namibia’s National Implementation Strategy, which is why we focus on these topics for discussion in 2023,” said Pack.
