Industry Loop –  The podcast is back!!!

Industry Loop –  The podcast is back!!!

#IndustryLoop is a concept I gave birth to during my early days at Unam Radio.

The original idea was to have a segment featuring an ordinary citizen who happens to love music to rate new Namibian Hip Hop songs with brutal honesty.

The ordinary citizen at the time was Dr Francis.

The segment caught instant traction, for obvious reasons.

Artists did not take too kindly to having their songs rated with brutal honesty. As I got recruited from Unam Radio for Energy100FM, the segment grew to a point where we collaborated with NAMTV to shoot what I can only say was the earliest version of a podcast. Dare I say, we were the first to do “podcast” of any nature back in the day. This was 2013-14.

The segment also secured a space in this highly-esteemed newspaper brand, New Era… the same year. That’s how long this segment-turned-column has been running.

The NAMTV collaboration fizzled out, but in 2023…I revived the idea of having a visual element to #IndustryLoop, clinching a column/podcast deal powered by the New Era

Since the very first episode that featured pioneering TV personality and digital content-creator…Pombili Shilongo, WE COOKED! Every single episode rocked the industry one way or another. However, we’ve been silent since July 2024. Clocking six months since we dropped an episode. Why did we go quiet? What happened? Did some powerful influence behind the scenes shut us down for kama “offending” someone or something?

Well… you will get all of your answers if you visit the New Era newspaper YouTube page, and stream the first episode of the year. Matter of fact, the first episode since our Houdini shenanigans six months ago.

We also used the opportunity to once and for all address the #NSKanye drama. During that drama… a comment that kept coming up was “his apology is not genuine because he is making an excuse”. Which in all honesty, is idiotic thinking.

My apologies to the affected parties were always genuine. However, the parties that got hurt in the process need to understand the events that led up to that infamous moment. Context is everything.

Even if you plead guilty in a court of law at the beginning of a trial… the trial will still proceed because all parties involved need to understand the events and details that led up to that moment. That’s literally the order of life. How am I making excuses by explaining what happened?! Whoever is driving that narrative seeks to protect the agents that enabled that awards drama. I’ve suffered enough in silence. The agents that enabled my plan will be exposed.

They will share equally in the pain that I endured (still endure) and that the people who were at the receiving end of my actions endured (and probably still endure).

From this point onwards… prepare to be sick of me. Hate me or love me… I know who I am. For some odd reason, that rubs insecure people up the wrong way. I will never again allow anyone to dictate who I am. Those who know my heart and who know my undeniable work ethic, quality, professionalism and downright obsessive approach to everything understand every single word they’ve read so far.

NSK is back.

The podcast is back. Make peace with it…or in The Dogg’s (now King Tee Dee) famous words, “SWALLOW THE BLADE!”

Until the next Loop, we say #GMTM
