The sought after Ineos brand has become significantly more affordable locally after the Namibian sales office recently introduced a new pricing strategy. Inspired by the original Land Rover Defender of the 1980s, the Ineos brand continues to outshine in terms of reliability and capability compared to premium SUVs in its market segment.
“We are constantly striving to generate consumer confidence and with this new pricing strategy, we are competing directly against existing legacy brands,” explained Ineos Namibia sales manager Karl-Heinz Eisenberg. He added that going forward the pricing will be determined by new stock, Eisenberg said the newly introduced strategy enables consumers to save an incredible half a million Namibia dollars on a new vehicle.
This amazing price saving has been introduced at a time when the Ineos brand continues to make notable inroads into new markets. Not your typical luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV) because it is about as no-frills as a modern SUV can be, Ineos is impressing local consumers with its superior build quality, impressive on-road stance and remarkable off-road capabilities.
Despite being offered as a no-frills SUV, Ineos vehicles have been constructed to include variety, as it can incorporate basically every luxury add-on under the sun. Combined with Ineos’s top-notch 4×4 ability, spurred on by impressive torque produced by a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six engine, sourced from BMW, Ineos brings both driver and passengers an overwhelming sense of ease, knowing that even the most demanding obstacles are no match for all the derivatives in the brand’s stable.
That sense of ease and comfort in the harshest conditions is in part due to the Ineos vehicles being relatively heavy at over two tonnes. The added weight provides a substantial stabilising effect that enables Ineos vehicles to make easy work of the toughest terrains due to permanent all-wheel drive.
Unlike some of its rivals, Ineos does not have selectable terrain response modes or a smart traction control system. This allows the driver to experience and adjust to the slightest changes in terrain.
Overall, Ineos vehicles are rugged and uncomplicated. Assembled from the best parts on the market, engineered in Austria, assembled in France, Ineos is becoming increasing popular due to legendary off-road capability. This emanates from an age when most SUVs sat on a separate ladder-frame chassis with solid axles at each end. The only other SUV currently on sale featuring that suspension combination is the Jeep Wrangler.
With a price tag of just over N$1 million, Ineos vehicles utilise recirculating ball steering rather than a rack-and-pinion, making it one of a handful of manufacturers that still prefer this configuration.
In the essence of a true 4×4 specialist, Ineos also incorporates a second battery that can power 110-volt appliances drawing up to 400 watts. In anticipation of owners spending long stretches in the bush, the Ineos derivatives are pre-wired for the fitment of more off-road lighting and a host of other accessories.
During a recent one-on-one interview with Woema, Gilles Masier, regional manager for Ineos Africa, explained that the strategy behind Ineos’ success is a vehicle for the world and for global markets.
“We decided to go global. So, we are now present in more than 50 markets, which is, I mean, an incredible performance for such a small company. We are very happy with the progress we’re making, and we’ve got big ambitions to grow, because over 50 markets are what we currently have, but we have ambitions to grow in more markets, such as in Africa, in South America, and in Asia,” said Masier.
Meanwhile, due to increasing status as an exceptional SUV, Ineos is targeting close to 50% growth during 2025 in key global markets.
