Ingenious Moviemaker Receives Donation

Home Archived Ingenious Moviemaker Receives Donation

By Berio Mbala WINDHOEK Following a recent story in New Era, Zambezi Film Production and Consultancy yesterday received a donation of N$15ÃÆ’Æ‘ÀÃ…ÃÆ”šÃ‚ 000 in cash plus two laptop computers valued at more than N$9ÃÆ’Æ‘ÀÃ…ÃÆ”šÃ‚ 000 each from Vido Cash Loan in Windhoek. Evans Sitali, owner of Vido Cash Loans and Transportation, has thus become the first businessman to sponsor Zambezi Film Production and Consultancy since its inception in 2004. The donations come after Simubali requested the government, NGOs, and private and public businesses to fund the opening of his consultancy company in the film industry. According to Evans Sitali, the reason he donated money to this small company is because the film industry in Namibia is an untapped sector, and for Simubali as a young Namibian this may be a gateway. The film industry is expensive to run, and hopefully he will use this donation wisely, he said, adding that it is not easy to start a business like this, as one has to work hard to achieve what you are aiming for. “For example”, said Sitali, “I started from scratch, as he is doing. After working for some years with Air Namibia, I decided to save money to start a business. “I started something different to what he is doing – running a taxi business. And then I moved to bigger pastures of cash loans, where the public can borrow money – those who are in need of cash – and pay back with interest. And that’s what we today call Vido Cash Loans and Transportation. Sitali advised Simubali that in life one would come across people who would discourage you; that this or that person had failed; and others would ask how will your business grow? “Keep on trying”, said Sitali, “until you get to where you want to be, because even in school one will not obtain a degree on a silver platter. But if you work hard, you will get the reward you are struggling for,” he said. In thanking Vido Cash Loans and Transportation, Simubali said he was grateful for their donation and that so far it was the first company to donate something towards his own company since it started. He said that even though he received two laptops and N$15ÃÆ’Æ‘ÀÃ…ÃÆ”šÃ‚ 000 in cash, he was still appealing to the Government, NGOs, and private and other public companies for financial assistance to enable him to move forward. He said, for any company willing to assist Zambezi Film Production and Consultancy financially, they can contact Simubali at the following address: email: simubalisyl@hotmail.com or on his mobile 081-284-0940 or Tel: 061 23-8870.
