WINDHOEK – Veteran Brave Warriors striker Rudolf Bester, is expected to be out for four more weeks at his South African club Free State Stars, owing to an injury. The former Eleven Arrows and Orlando Pirates (SA) striker has been struggling with a hamstring injury for some weeks now.
The 31-year-old former Maritzburg United goal poacher has made just one league start for Free State Stars so far in the 2014/15 season. Stars caretaker coach, Kinnah Phiri, will hope that the team’s Bafana Bafana striker, Moeketsi Sekola, will continue with his impressive going into the next round of matches.
It looks that it never rains but only pours for the Namibian contingent in the Free State as the injury curse has also spiraled down to Bester’s compatriot former Blue Waters and reigning MTC Premiership golden boot award holder Hendrick ‘Ballack’ Somaeb. The latter is yet to make his eagerly awaited PSL debut since his much-trumpeted big move from Blue Waters at the beginning of the current term.
Other players on the injury list are, Daouda Diakite and Reuben Thebekang. Stars recently parted ways with former Brave Warriors mentor Tom Saintfiet. The team is linked with former Pirates coach in Milutin Sredojevic. Stars are currently 11th on the Absa Premiership log with 11 points after 10 games.
