 WINDHOEK

Two global classic plays will again be part of the Namibia’s most prolific and enterprising creative community theater group’s annual contemporary theatre festival this year.

In this regard Committed Artists of Namibia (CAN) are cordially inviting local actors and actresses to form part of the casts of the two world stage works, one South African playwright, Athol Fugard’s latest and only Afrikaans play, Die Laaste Karretjie Graf. Nama-Afrikaans speaking male and female actresses with sober habits are particularly invited to attend auditions for this captivating historic Afrikaans play about the life style of the sheepshearers of the Karoo tomorrow at ten O’clock in the morning (10h00) at the Eldorado School hall.

CAN has obtained exclusive performing rights in Namibia for the said Afrikaans play from the Dramatic Artistic Literature Rights Organization (DALRO) in Johannesburg, South Africa for three performances on May 26, 27 and 28.

CAN is also inviting male and females actors for auditions tomorrow at Eldorado School Hall for the Irish playwright Samuel Beckett’s internationally acclaimed play, Endgame, to be performed on August  25,26 and 27.

Those interested in the auditions may kindly contact the Artistic Director of CAN, Frederick B. Philander on 0817172406.
