This is a response to the request addressed to the Windhoek Islamic Centre, as a faith-based organization in Namibia, by the land activists of Affirmative Repositioning for Divine Intervention.
We hereby pray for the peaceful and just resolution of the land crisis in Namibia.
We pray for divine guidance for our political, social and economic leaders to use their powers in positive and socially beneficial ways.
We pray for the land barons and land givers to have a sincere change of heart and start equitably sharing the land that is so vast with our tiny population of less than 3 million Namibians.
We pray for the lawmakers of this country to creatively make laws that will legally force those with excess land to affordably sell it to the government for resettlement of those without shelter, quality housing and proper accommodation.
We pray for the youth of this country to fully participate in the positive social changes in society.
We pray that those who have today should understand that the God who gave them, can take away tomorrow, and that this realisation must humble the haves to share with the have-nots.
We pray that God Almighty enable those without material and economic means to make all the necessary efforts to empower themselves with the right information (education) that will guide them to right action and socially beneficial empowerment.
We pray that God guide, bless and protect those who are fearlessly and persistently striving for the improvement of the human condition.
We pray that the Namibian nation, at large, fully empathize, sympathise and care for those less fortunate so that in the near future, we shall have a country where truly none feels left out of the Namibian House, where everybody has a house over his or her head, where everyone can afford to stay in decent accommodation.
We pray for the financial system in this country to consider that without people with financial means, they are equally doomed, as such sharing and social responsibility are the only way to go together in harmony.
We pray that the Government of Namibia shall increasingly realize that it is in the best interest of all citizens to have access to an affordable standard of living, thus improving the Quality of Living for ALL in the country. None must be left behind.
We pray for the protection of the land activists from the harm of temporarily powerful humans.
We also pray that the youth learn and manifest manners of respect for the elders and those that have already sacrificed a lot for this country, while remaining critical. Development and human progress are cumulative processes.
