It was a learning curve – Koorts Snr

Cecil Koorts Snr says his two go-kart riders, who competed in the second leg of the Rok Nationals, experienced challenges but gained valuable experience from their participation.

The two riders are Cecil Koorts Jnr, who competed in the Mini Rok category, marking his second international event, and Kristopher Koudelka, who made her debut in the Kid Rok category.

Both riders finished ninth in their respective races, which their coach described as a learning curve. “Both finished in position number nine in the final race, which I think wasn’t bad given the fact that one of them made her debut at this event. Overall, we gained so much experience that we are going to use going forward,” Koorts said.

The Rok Nationals serve as a crucial platform for young go-karters to gain international exposure and sharpen their skills against top competitors from the region.

Koorts Jnr participated in the Rok International Championship competition in Italy last year, which provided him significant exposure.
