‘It’s a must-win for us’ – Ngarizemo

‘It’s a must-win for us’ – Ngarizemo

GOBABIS – Head coach of Young African FC, Maleagi Ngarizemo said his team have to collect maximum points against Rundu-based clubs Julinho Athletics FC and Cuca Tops this weekend at their famous Legare Stadium in Gobabis.

Young African produced a stellar performance since the start of the league campaign and only tasted one premier league defeat this season so far.

The team known as Yangile currently occupy the fifth position in the league with 27 points from 16 games, three points behind log leaders FC Ongos who have 30 points from 17 matches played.

Young African also has a game in hand against Otjiwarongo-based Mighty Gunners, after their game was stopped by the referee due to alleged poor lighting at Legare with Yangile leading by a goal to nil.

Ngarizemo said the team is still in contention for the league title despite tasting defeat at the hands of UNAM FC recently.

“We are ready for the weekend, and we know that it’s not going to be easy games at all. So, we will fight for six points,” he said.

He emphasised that the six points are compulsory this weekend to keep the team in the league title contention.

“We hope our players will come to the party and make our town proud,” Ngarizemo added.

Asked about the mood in the camp, the head coach said the team is ok and all looks good so far, adding that the Easter break enabled the players to rest a bit and recover from small knocks they had.

“Nevertheless, we started well on Tuesday with training and played a friendly match against Ramblers at their stadium. We played defeated them 5-2.,” he said.

Ngarizemo called on the supporters to fill their famous Legare Stadium on Saturday and Sunday as the encounters between the two Rundu-based teams will be decisive and a must-win.

The team captain Ngaitone Kaindjee said the team is ready for the weekend battle despite the Easter break.

“Our friendly match against Ramblers during the week showed that the team is still in good shape and will soldier on,” said the centre-back.

Kaindjee said the atmosphere in the camp is superb and they are confident of getting good results this weekend.

“We are all good, it’s our home ground and the supporters must come in numbers. We are ready,” he concluded.

On Saturday at 15h30, Young African will play Julinho Athletic while the Sunday fixture against Cuca Tops will be at 14h00. -zngaruka@yahoo.com
