The Standard Bank Auto Show has been described as one of the most highly profiled and popular events in the automobile industry. This is the zeal with which Standard Bank’s Head of Vehicle and Asset Finance, Wim Lotter, says that it is all systems go for the upcoming Auto Show on July 8 and 9, 2016. During a one-on-one interview, Lotter said he is optimistic of yet another successful Standard Bank Auto Show this year.

Q: What are your expectations for this year’s Standard Bank Auto Show?
A: Everything is ready for our Auto Show and given the success we had with the previous auto shows, I am confident to say that we expect a great spectacle this time around too. We will be having 32 exhibiting motor dealers and besides the latest vehicles on display we will also be showcasing the golden oldies models right through to the latest new addition vehicles and bikes. We are hoping to attract 20 000 spectators to the show and this year our intention is to give exposure to our local dealers because it is always better to support our own. The 2016 Standard Bank Auto Show will once again be held in partnership with the Biltongfees with whom we have had a long-standing relationship of over 20 years.

Q: What specials can the general public look forward to at the Auto Show?
A: Standard Bank Namibia is pleased to announce that we will be offering all our vehicle buyers an interest rate of prime less 1.75 percent rate at the auto show. Residual value of up 30 percent and no deposit and 60 months to pay off you loan. Besides these specials the participating dealers will also be offering specials on their vehicles and also in terms of pricing and deposits.

Q: Of what significance is the Auto Show to Standard Bank Namibia clients and dealers alike?
A: The Standard Bank Auto Show has become a popular event on the automobile industry calendar. Due to the great exposure, this is an ideal platform for Standard Bank Namibia to bring our customers face to face with the local dealerships. For our dealers this is great exposure for them to market their latest models, while at the same time compare and contrast their products with each other. At the end of the day we want to give the local dealerships a platform to provide real specials deals to their customers over two days.

Q: Many people will be coming to the Auto show this year and among them first-time car buyers. What’s your advice to them?
A: They should make it a point to visit as many dealers as possible in order to have a wide range of choice when buying their first car. Also they should think about how a particular vehicle will suit their lifestyle, performance and financial means. Compare the vehicles and ask as many questions as possible to the dealers. Our Standard Bank consultants will also be available for any queries and information. The good news is that onsite credit approvals will made at the auto show together with the sales contracts.

Q: It is just few days to go before ‘Legacy Innovation” theme at the Standard Bank Auto Show. Anything you would like to add?
A: In short, I encourage the public to turn up in their numbers and support the Auto Show. It is not just a show for vehicle fanatics, but also a fun-filled time for the whole family. Our theme legacy innovation will give spectators a journey from the golden oldies automobiles right through to the latest and newest vehicle models. On a lighter note, what more can you ask for  – you see the latest automobiles while eating mouth-watering biltong!
