A more visible sight on Namibian roads, the JAC brand is not only winning over the hearts of motorists, but is also winning on the gruelling local rally circuit. This is as M+Z Motorsports’ JAC T8 double cab last weekend scooped first place in the CR1 category at the demanding Gobabis Motor Club Rally.
The modified T8 bakkie was driven by Ekko Eisenberg (M&Z Motors managing director), and was navigated by Horazio (Rassie) Rietz.
M+Z Motorsports is no stranger to the local rally circuit and recently, the club has been propelled to greater heights by the JAC brand with consistent podium finishes.
“Huge congratulations to the M+Z Motorsports team on their 1st place win at the Gobabis Motor Club Rally! What an incredible rally! The JAC Motors’ vehicle performed exceptionally well, securing the top spot in CR1,” boasted the JAC Motors Namibia Facebook page.
Commenting on the outstanding performance of the brand, JAC sales manager Karl-Heinz Eisenberg said it had been a challenge with a new brand such as JAC to create desirability over just affordability.
“Through the rally programme, it enables us to touch the hearts of Namibians in the most spectacular way possible. “We only changed the engine to a petrol V8 unit. The rest of the bakkie is as stock as can be with what the FIA allows,” said Eisenberg about JAC’s rally bakkie.
Meanwhile, JAC Motors Namibia continues to make advances in terms of local market share, particularly with its popular T9 model, which retails for about N$650 000. This luxurious range topping models, with dimensions of 5.3m long 1.96m wide, is moved by 125kW of power and 410Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine is mated to a very smooth eight-speed automatic transmission.
