On 21 November, the 23rd Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition opened at the Canton Fair Complex, where JAC Motors showcased its latest high-end, intelligent vehicles, highlighting the company’s strategic shift from traditional manufacturing to a forward-looking, technology-driven mobility enterprise.
Led by the innovative MAEXTRO S800, JAC Motors showcased two DEFINE concept cars, the T9 PHEV, the RF8 and its all-domain wire-controlled smart chassis, inspiring confidence in the company’s future direction.
MAEXTRO S800
Since 2019, JAC Motors and Huawei have established a strategic partnership to showcase their innovative collaboration, strengthening JAC Motors’ position in the intelligent electric vehicle sector and attracting industry attention.
JAC Motors and Huawei teamed with leading suppliers to develop advanced production lines, creating a state-of-the-art factory. All premium resources were dedicated to the MAEXTRO brand, prioritising its development, manufacturing, quality delivery and service support as the company’s top-level initiative.
JAC Motors has introduced advanced management processes, including IPD, ISC and LTC, driving major process-focused restructuring and digital transformation. This has improved R&D efficiency, quality management and market responsiveness, creating a strong foundation for developing a globally competitive premium brand.
The S800 has garnered over 18 000 orders since its market introduction early in 2025, marking a breakthrough for Chinese brands in the luxury segment, which has long been dominated by established international players. This set a new standard for premium performance and technology integration.
T9 PHEV Double-cab Bakkie
The T9 PHEV, powered by JAC’s “H-Power” super hybrid system, delivers over 1 000 Nm torque – the world’s first hybrid pickup with this power. It combines cutting-edge hybrid technology, five-star safety and all-scenario capability, redefining intelligent Chinese engineering.
“We are excited to introduce the new T9 PHEV in South Africa in the first quarter of 2025. Its impressive performance, refined drivability and excellent fuel efficiency will appeal to buyers seeking a high-performance, practical and luxurious double-cab bakkie,” says Karl-Heinz Göbel, CEO of JAC Motors South Africa.
RF8 PHEV
The RF8 PHEV represents a significant leap in JAC Motors’ new-energy journey, blending intelligent technologies with user-driven design. Its 3DHT hybrid system, German-tuned chassis, premium cabin, customisable front fascia, advanced infotainment and intelligent driving aids all reflect extensive user collaboration, delivering innovation tailored to real-world needs.
DEFINE Concept Cars
The DEFINE-S and DEFINE-X are highly customisable concept vehicles that preview future products under the DEFINE platform. By exploring the platform’s limits in terms of sportiness and spaciousness, these prototypes provide a strong foundation for the design of upcoming models.
JAC DAY 2025
Each year, JAC Motors unites distributors and users worldwide by merging its JAC DAY Brand Festival with the Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition. This global gathering blends tradition with innovation, strengthening engagement between the brand and its users while fostering a dynamic, positive brand culture.
Launched in 2021, the JAC DAY Brand Festival has strengthened JAC’s image as a relatable, dynamic and responsible Chinese automotive brand. It has earned widespread praise from millions of fans and recognition from key government bodies, including the publicity department of the Communist Party of China and the state-owned assets supervision and administration commission.
At the event, alongside booth visits and vehicle showcases, JAC Motors also hosted the MAEXTRO S800 Private Preview and JAC DAY Fans Night Gala. The global JAC family came together to celebrate, sharing friendship and inspiration while revisiting the remarkable stories and journeys co-created by JAC Motors and its users worldwide.
Towards a New Future
JAC Motors continues to advance intelligent, connected, new-energy vehicles. Partnering with its users, the company aims to build a distinctive industrial ecosystem and co-create a smart, inspiring lifestyle with its global community.
“The local transport market is already benefiting from JAC Motors’ global focus on sustainable new-energy mobility, with us leading EV truck sales in South Africa,” concludes Göbel. “Major transport operators, including Eskom, Takealot, DSV, Adcock Ingram, Interwaste, DP World, and Blue-Ribbon Bakeries, who are some of our biggest EV customers, are adopting new-energy solutions, reducing costs while protecting the environment,” he added.
JAC Motors South Africa has a network of over 70 dealers across Southern Africa, including Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Lesotho, Eswatini, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique (independent). This extensive footprint ensures that after-sales service meets global standards, delivering a consistent, positive customer experience across the region. – JAC Motors
