Eight-year-old go-karting sensation Russell Josephat, also known as RJ63, is set to compete in another high-stakes competition this weekend in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Two weeks ago, the reigning national bambino champion showcased his talent at the Rotax Max Challenge (RMC) Rand Kart Club Championship in Johannesburg, where he finished in second place with an impressive 94 points.
This upcoming event presents a fresh challenge, demanding an even stronger performance from Josephat if he hopes to secure victory.
Speaking to this publication before departing for South Africa, JP Josephat, Russell’s father and coach, expressed confidence in his son’s preparations. “Yes, preparations have gone well. We’ll still make final adjustments before Saturday’s main event. From our training sessions at home, we’ve worked hard to address our weaknesses, and we’re aiming for victory,” he said.
Reflecting on the previous race, JP acknowledged areas that needed improvement. “We could have performed better last time, but a few factors held us back. That’s why we’ve put in extra effort to ensure we’re ready this time around,” he added.
