Julinho Athletic appoints Do Rego as chairman

Julinho Athletic Football Club has appointed Fabio Do Rego as chairperson.

He takes over from Dino Ballotti, who has now been appointed as the deputy minister of education, innovation, youth, sport, arts and culture.

The newly-appointed chairman said he is privileged and humbled to have stepped into this role.

“Julinho Athletic has a proud and inspiring legacy, as well as an ambitious future. I am excited and committed to helping build on it with passion, purpose and unity. Together with our team and supporters, we will shape the club’s next chapter.

“The future is bright, and I look forward to working with the entire Julinho family to elevate the club to even greater heights,” Do Rego shared. The club extended heartfelt congratulations on this achievement.

“We express profound gratitude for the remarkable contribution of Ballotti to the club’s growth, professionalism and community impact during his time as chairman.

We are pleased to confirm that Do Rego, a long-time supporter and passionate advocate of football development in Namibia, will officially take over.

Do Rego brings fresh energy, a wealth of leadership experience and a clear vision for the club’s continued progress.

We are confident that Julinho Athletic will continue to rise as a competitive force in the Namibian Premier League under his stewardship,” the club said in a statement.

Vice president Norton Luis expressed appreciation for both leaders.

“We are incredibly proud of Ballotti and wish him great success in his new role at the national level. His leadership has been pivotal in shaping the direction of our club. We thank Ballotti  for guiding this club with integrity and vision. We’re equally excited to welcome Do Rego, whose energy and ambition align perfectly with the club’s mission.

We are confident he will carry this momentum forward, and take Julinho to new heights,” said Luis.

Ballotti expressed appreciation to the club.

“Serving as chairman of Julinho Athletic has been one of the great honours of my career. The club will always hold a special place in my heart. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together. I leave with full confidence in the new leadership and incredible potential of this team,” he said.
