While the outcome of the MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) title race is still open for debate, this weekend’s round of matches will without a doubt be a do-or-die affair, with the bottom four clubs going all out to avoid relegation.

With basement dwellers Flamingoes not in action this weekend, second-from-bottom Julinho Sporting will have to take full advantage of Flamingoes’ absence, by hopefully collecting maximum points against mid-table outfits Tura Magic and Unam tomorrow and on Sunday.

Julinho currently occupies 15th position with 17 points on the 16-team league table and have thus far won only four of the 21 games played – meaning they cannot afford to drop any further points, as such a scenario could drag them further into the clammy relegation mud.

Playing a highly motivated Tura Magic team tomorrow and then an uncompromising Unam on Sunday will probably take its toll on the players, but playing in front of their home crowd should serve as a perfect tonic for the River Boys as far as collecting maximum points is concerned.

Tura Magic currently sits in 7th place, tied at 27 points with 8th placed Unam. Both teams are equally determined to record victories away from home this weekend, as a win for either side could go a long way in defining their prospects of finishing within the top four.
