The fraud case in which seven people are accused of defrauding the //Karas Regional Council in excess of N$1.4 million has been postponed to Friday next week.

Raimond Snewe, 32, Desmond Rudath, 41, Hannalie Jacob, 34, Brian Snewe, 42, Petrus Theuns Isaacks, 26, and Martha Bonita Mupaine, 31, and her husband Carlos Mupaine, 39, each face charges of fraud, theft, forgery and uttering, corruption and money laundering.

The case was postponed to September 25 as only three of the accused had legal representatives present while Snewe, Rudath and the Mupaine couple had no lawyers present at court for unknown reasons.

The postponement is also to allow for further investigations as explained by magistrate Helena Nepembe.

The accused are all out on bail and their bail conditions remain the same, meaning they all have to surrender all their travel documents to the police.
