Home National Kawana vows to help uplift Lisikili Combined School

Lisikili

Minister of Justice Dr Albert Kawana, who was last Friday named patron of Lisikili Combined School, has vowed to help the rural school become one of the best performing schools in the region and the country at large.

Lisikili Combined School Combined is situated about 25 kilometres northeast of Katima Mulilo.

In his acceptance speech Kawana vowed to do everything within his power “to ensure that the school receives assistance, so that the learners can receive proper education in order to change their lives, those of their families and communities”.

As part of his first contribution to the school, Kawana introduced a floating trophy with monetary compensation to be given to the best performing Grade 10 teacher each year. In addition, Kawana promised to pay uniform expenses for the top three Grade 10 learners.

At the same occasion Kawana donated a new laptop and a printer and undertook to donate more computers in future.

“We should commit ourselves, in the spirit of the Harambee Prosperity Plan, to ensure that all Namibians enjoy the fruits of our independence. With the calibre and commitment of the school authorities, I have no doubt that together we will play our part in order to achieve that objective,” he said.
