Local male model, Macedo Kgosi, representing the Kavango region, is Mister Ideal Namibia 2016. A glittery pageant over the weekend at the Khomas Grove Mall here, saw Kgosi, a learner at the Kavango East High School, competing with other 14 models from different regions, battling it out for the title. Kgosi did not only take the title home but also scooped an opportunity to represent Namibia in the fifth edition of the Mister Africa International in London this October. The first runner up is Rushin Samuels, who also obtained the title of Mister Ideal Namibia-Tourism with Regaart Gavin Van Wyk second-runner up with the title of Mister Ideal Namibia-Earth.
Mister Ideal Namibia seeks to crown the ideal Namibian men carrying the values of hard work, brains and most importantly, fitness. However, the winner of this year pageant will embark on a year of advocacy for entrepreneurship, health and a lot of charity work around the country. Kgosi will receive funds to kick-start an ideal business venture; a spread in the Nigerian Twitch Magazine and a modeling and acting contract in Hollywood.
Other awards on the night were for the Best Regional Costume, which went to Kunene region’s Ruben Shivute; Mister Ideal Personality coveted by Kavango West’s Martin Tabo while Erongo’s Rushin Samuels was crowned Mister Ideal Photogenic. The Mister Ideal Namibia 2016 judges were Business woman and model, Grace Khakane; Nedbank Auditor Leonard Shitaleni; Designer and beauty queen and Miss Namibia 2016 finalist, Mailia Kalipi and Radio Energy Communication Manager and radio presenter, Nashawn Marengar.
