Khomas High School walked away with a floating trophy and N$10 000 in the schools’ league of the Bank Windhoek 7-a-Side Soccer Tournament for schools, after beating Delta Secondary School in an exciting clash.
Both teams struggled to find the back of the net in the opening stages of the match but it was Khomas High who eventually broke through their opponent’s defence to steal an all-important 1-0 victory, walking away with N$10 000 in prize money while Delta pocketed N$7 000.
Jan Möhr Secondary School finished in third place after beating Hage Geingob Secondary School 3-1 in the third play-off match, taking home N$5 000.
In the 7-a-Side farm workers category, Young Boys emerged as the winners after defeating Farm Stars Charolé 3-0. They won N$10 000, while Farm Stars Charolé got N$7 000. Vuma trounced Omaheke Chiefs by 3-2 on penalties to secure a third place finish, which comes with a handsome N$5 000.
