Namibia Correctional Service (NCS) recorded the biggest win of the weekend in the Khomas Super 10 Netball League, thrashing Afrocat Lions 47-15 in an entertaining encounter.
The two teams clashed on Friday evening at the Khomasdal Netball Courts in the capital. Afrocat Lions coach Dimitri Bittler expressed disappointment with the result, citing a lack of concentration in the early stages of the game.
“These are not the results we wanted. I think we didn’t stick to our game plan and lost focus early on, which affected our morale,” said Bittler.
“The loss exposed some of our shortcomings, but we’ll regroup and strategies for the way forward.
”Meanwhile, league representative Isadore Nel praised the level of competition displayed over the weekend, noting the high number of goals scored.
“I’m happy with the overall return. All the teams showed hunger to win and put on good performances. It’s clear the break re-energised the players, and judging by the competition so far, the standard has certainly gone up,” he said.
In other results on Friday, Nust edged Namibia Defence Force (NDF)with a narrow 32-31 victory. Saturday’s matches at Patrick Iyambo Courts saw Golden Girls overpower Unam Jaguars 40-17, whileTigers narrowly beat NUST 31-30.
In another close contest, NDF defeated Afrocat Lions 34-24, and Go Monate Fella overcameWanderers 44-29.
In the First Division, Wanderers registered a convincing 34-23 win over Black Africa.In the Second Division, Afrocat Lions secured a tight 31-28 win against Quality Queens, Tura Magic dominated Unam SOM 52-24, and City of Windhoek edged Windhoek City 31-26.
