WINDHOEK

The case of Corle Nolte, expected to give birth any day next month, was yesterday postponed to July 18.

Nolte made her second appearance in Court A of the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court.

She is charged with perjury and shoplifting and was represented in court by her lawyer Sarel Maritz of Dr Weber, Kauta and Hoveka.

Nolte’s court appearance comes three weeks after she alarmed the entire city with the story of her alleged kidnapping. On June 4, an e-mail that said an eight-month pregnant woman was kidnapped circulated all over in the capital.

The woman openly narrated her dramatic event to New Era in the evening of the same day although so many questions such as, “Would she identify her two kidnappers?” remained unanswered.

However, the police confirmed the opening of a kidnapping case by Nolte that very afternoon.

Two days into the investigation, police established there was something fishy about the whole story leading to the arrest of Nolte four days later.

A reliable source revealed to New Era that investigations found that allegedly, Nolte stole clothes from Style shop and proceeded to Truworths, where she wanted to steal more but was caught given tight security measures there.

Not wanting people to know of her actions, she allegedly cooked up a story that left many shocked and today still haunts her.

Nolte made her first appearance in court on June 11, charged with perjury and shoplifting.

She was released on N$2?
