Home Art Life King J-Cey readies to take music scene on

WINDHOEK-Joseph Kanzi popularly known as King J-Cey is one of the new blood in the music industry. He was born in the village of Omuntele In Onyaanya Constituency in the Oshikoto Region.

King J-Cey started his musical journey last November and dropped his massive mix-tape in December, titled Take You Out. The mix-tape consists of four (4) tracks.

Take You Out, Ulikileinge, M’nathi and Happy New Year are the four songs you can find on the album. Take You Out is an AfroPop song featuring Genny, a gospel singer with a passionate voice. The song has a new taste in the Namibian industry and apart from that, you can describe it as a sweet, romantic song and a song one can always enjoy listening to, especially when with partners.

Ulikileinge is also an Afro-Pop song which he composed with Allex and Shyer.  King J-Cey says, Ulikileinge is an Oshiwambo term, which means “show me”, and with  this song, he is asking people to show him the way and render him necessary support to pave his way toward success.

M’nathi is ruling the airwaves on local radio stations. K-Legend is on the chorus and Little Boy powering it as he goes with  the flow with his voice. M’nathi is a Kwaito song with a Zambian style???? beat. M’nathi means sweet and with  this song I mean there is no day that I will treat you bad and there is no day that I will insult you. B-Fresh from the Fresh Family joins. And the last track on the album is Happy New Year. This is an amazing Kwaito track and on this one  King J-Cey worked with Mak Omzee and Amchux from the Ama Daz Floor Crew.He adds that Happy New Year song is meant to celebrate the New Year and to take people out of the festive season.

Take you out; Ulikileinge and Happy New Year were produced by DJ Left-K at Light Sound Record (LSR) while M’nathi is produced by M-jay at Deal Done Record (DDR).

King J-Cey says this mix-tape was just a small piece to give to fans as a token of appreciation for supporting him, while the main album is coming soon later this year.

“So far there are more beautiful songs that are done already  I even took time to choose which songs I must put in this mix-tape for my promotions, to gain more fans while the album is in its way,” he says.

In the main upcoming album, King J-Cey has worked with Sunny boy, Mr Chilly, Young T, Kidd Ill and the Ama Daz Floor Crew but most of the songs were produced by Young T. “I am looking forward to work with many more artists from inside and outside the country.  My last words, I just want to thank everyone that I have worked with on this project, everyone that helped me like Punda Amukugo, let me not forget those that encouraged me not to give up during my hardest time,”

“I believe the prizes of life are at end of each journey not near the beginning, and it is not given to me to know how many steps are necessary in order to reach my goals, I will persist until I succeed,” he signs off.
