Job history: She worked as a fish processor at NovaNam, administrator in her family business, community counsellor and HIV rapid tester at the ministry of health, community social worker for a NGO where she offered psychological support and counselling to many people such as HIV-positive mothers, and paid school fees for vulnerable children. Mukapuli was elected as a local authority councillor for Lüderitz in 2010, and in 2013 she was elected as the Swapo Party district coordinator for Lüderitz to date. In 2015 she was elected as the mayor of Lüderitz.
Goal as mayor: Affordable housing for everyone and industrialisation for our small coastal town are my main goals, she says. She also wants to improve sanitation for informal settlements and work towards a sustainable environment. Furthermore, she wants to increase the number of investors locally and internationallyat the town.
