Krohne takes L3kker flavour to the US

Krohne takes L3kker flavour to the US

Launched on 19 August 2022, L3kker.com is a clothing brand born from a desire to uplift communities and amplify voices often unheard. It was founded by Namibian entrepreneur Geveve Krohne and has deep roots in Keetmanshoop. Simply put, the brand embodies resilience and creativity.

Krohne, who is currently based in Chicago in the United States of America, told VIBEZ! she has always wanted to be the voice, for those who don’t have a voice and to inspire others that there is more to life than what we see in our daily commute or surroundings.

“Launching a clothing brand is no easy task. It doesn’t matter what dream you want to launch or where you launch it from, you will always run into challenges, which is good. But I was fortunate enough to build a community in America, and they have been supporting me on this journey,” she said.

Viva, as she is affectionally known, has been fortunate enough to also have received support from different people from different countries living in America.

“The majority of my audience is Americans, but when I do run into Africans here in America, they’re always happy to support me.”

“We are growing slowly, but surely. We only launched a limited edition of hoodies in Namibia and at this moment, they’re all sold out. If people are interested in supporting us, they can follow me on Instagram or Facebook.

They can also check out our website for more details about our next limited edition dropping in Namibia soon, and who our contact person will be,” she explained.

L3kker.com is a brand that offers luxury sustainable clothing. Their hoodies are made from 100% organic cotton and recyclable polyester.

“We also added a touch of our Namibian traditional fabrics, and that is what really gives the brand the cherry on top of the cake. Our hoodies are heavyweight satin lined with 500 grams per square metre (GSM). Our brand is very unique because we do not use generic material and focus only on organic and recyclable materials which is good for our earth and society.”

The hoodies are thicker, softer, and more absorbent. The fabric provides a plush, soft feel against the skin, making it an ideal choice for both chilly evenings and casual daytime wear.

Their goal is to go bigger and beyond. They are focused on growth and scaling the brand, and trying to collaborate with Namibian designers and artists to bring more authenticity to the brand. “We are going on tour this year to build more brand awareness here in America, and also trying to build logistics so that we can launch bigger in Namibia by the end of this year. We are working on other projects, which will be launched during the summer.”

Not only focused on her brand, Viva is also planning on opening up a Hope Village, a dream that she always had in her heart to give back to the community that has raised her.

“I’ve always been a kid who has a big heart, and now a woman who deeply cares for and loves children. Viva Hope Village is going to be a safe space for homeless children and women struggling with addictions, and abuse and who have nowhere to go, but the ones who have the willing power to help themselves. As a person with a noble heart, I’ve seen the detriment in my community since I left my home in 2015, and I’ve seen the challenges that we face in our society in Namibia. As an entrepreneur, it is our goal to seek out challenges in our communities, and try and find solutions for the betterment of all people,” she said.

L3kker.com had a pop-up store on Saturday in downtown Chicago with the new hoodies going for US$120, with 20% going towards Viva‘s Hope Village, which will be built in Keetmanshoop in the near future.
