WINDHOEK – Namibian international and South African Professional Soccer League (PSL) outfit Amazulu’s versatile right-back Larry Horaeb has been ruled out for about six months after reinjuring his leg during a training session, AmaZulu team manager Japhet Zwane told New Era Sport.
According to Zwane, Horaeb who broke or fractured one of his legs during a clash against Chippa United late last year, complained of a sore leg during a recent training session and immediately received the doctor’s attention. He was diagnosed as having reinjured his previously fractured leg.
“Horaeb has injured his leg once again and by the look of things he will be out for at least six months. According to our biokineticist, Burger van der Merwe, Horaeb needs to undergo another operation and rest for a while. But we will keep an eye on him and take it from there,” said Zwane.
Pirates takes on Citizens tonight
In local news, after crashing to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of MTC premiership table-toppers African Stars over the weekend, Pirates will tonight entertain league rookies Citizens FC at the SKW Stadium in Windhoek at 20h00.
Currently stationed in 4th place with 27 points, Pirates coach Lucky Kakuva will today be faced with the daunting task of shaking off some bad memories from the weekend and hopefully restore a measure of confidence by at least beating Citizens, who are trailing them in 5th place with 26 points.
But with Citizens also determined to maintain a stronghold on their impressive league run, it might not be an easy task for Kakuva and his soldiers as a possible victory in tonight’s clash is the only tonic that can console their often strident and hard-to-please supporters.
A likely win for Pirates will definitely go a long way in redefining their future prospects, while reassuring their success-starved fans they are still serious title contenders this season.
