League reveals grit and growth in rounds 3 and 4

The Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo was a hotbed of energy and fierce competition this past weekend, as teams clashed in rounds three and four of the MTC Netball Namibia Premier League.

With netball fans trickling in and out of the venue, the court buzzed with action that not only thrilled spectators but also offered glimpses into each team’s evolving identity and hunger for dominance.

Among the crowd was netball enthusiast Mamikie Sabatha, who shared her excitement:

“It’s amazing to finally watch these women play live instead of just reading about them. I really hope more schools open netball clubs so our kids can join and grow the sport.”

The weekend’s matchups brought out the grit in teams as combinations sharpened and character started to shine through.

Otjozondjupa Nampol’s coach Paul Shikupo was full of praise for his players.

“The performance was a big step up from the first two rounds. The ladies played their hearts out. We’ll use the break to regroup and come back stronger.”

Tigers Netball Club also showed flashes of brilliance. Coach Viva Kamberipa said her team is progressing well.

“Our combinations are starting to gel. We had a strong weekend, although unforced errors in the final quarter of Sunday’s game against the Navy cost us. But we’re addressing that – ball discipline and decision-making under pressure will be key going forward. Still, I am proud of the ladies’ efforts.”

Head coach of Unam Ogongo Taapopi Sakupaula said they are very happy with the maximum points collected and will keep pushing hard.
