Pedestrians also do have right of way when they are crossing at a pedestrian crossing. As drivers, we need to be on alert and allow them to cross safely.

Below are the obligations on both the driver and the pedestrian:
A pedestrian may not enter the crossing where there is a robot except in accordance with the indications of the robot;
You must yield the right of way, (slow down or stop) so that a pedestrian can cross the road;
A pedestrian may not suddenly enter a pedestrian crossing and walk or run into the path of a vehicle;
Whenever any vehicle is stopped at a pedestrian crossing, the driver of any other vehicle approaching from the rear may not pass the stopped vehicle; and
Obey all traffic signs erected for scholar patrols.
