WINDHOEK – The Namibia German Centre for Logistics (NGCL) will participate in the Ongwediva Annual Trade Fair (OATF) where it will introduce and feature logistics and supply chain management as a career.
“The trade fair is a perfect opportunity to find out more about logistics, transport and the vital role it plays in Namibian and regional economics and growth. Especially for those interested in pursuing studies in this field but are not based in Windhoek. Looking at the very real challenges facing Namibia in its drive to fulfill its goals and promises set forth in Vision 2030, it is clear that logistics in all its forms plays an essential role,” the NGCL said in a statement. The NGCL is an all-in-one excellence institute, combining education, research and consulting in logistics. It is an institute at the Polytechnic of Namibia. The NGCL prides itself in being “a centre of excellence that educates leaders in logistics and transport and in turn promoting regional economic development.”
“Any country that wants to move forward like NGCL, can only begin to move forward if the lifeline of logistics and transportation is working smoothly. Through research, education and partnering with relevant organisations, NGCL is making this a reality. Our presence at the OATF provides the perfect platform for people to enquire about the skills training, coaching and mentoring that we offer,” says Neville Mbai, Director of NGCL. The NGCL is based on cooperation between the Polytechnic of Namibia and Flensburg University of Applied Sciences in Germany. Both institutions have gained an excellent reputation in the field of applied research, education delivery and economics. The project is part of the “African Excellence” initiative, funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) as part of the ‘AktionAfrika’ programme.
