LÜDERITZ – The current owner of Lüderitz Spar has sold the store to a new franchisee, who will take over on March 01.
It is believed the new management is willing to keep all current staff but they will have to re-apply for their positions.
More than 20 Lüderitz Spar workers will receive their new remuneration packages.
Namibia Wholesale and Retail Workers Union (NWRWU) regional organizer, Alina Petrus, confirmed workers are very happy with the promise of remuneration packages and the fact they will be able to keep their jobs at the store, and that the takeover by new management will not mean loss of work unless workers decide to look for other jobs.
