ONGWEDIVA – A 37-year-old man from Omatunda village in Endola constituency allegedly committed suicide over the weekend.
The police crime report issued Sunday said the Jonathan Namando Hangula’s lifeless body was found hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck on Saturday at about 19h20.
His next of kin are informed.
No suicide note was left behind and the motive is unknown. In Okankolo, a 43-year-old man died after he lost control of the car he was driving on Saturday at around 21h00 on a gravel road between Onyuulaye and Okankolo.
It is alleged that the unlicensed driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned.
The man was declared dead on the spot, while his 43-year-old male passenger sustained injuries and was transported to the Omuthiya hospital by MVA ambulance.
In Omuthiya, a 44-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly stole 11 cattle he was looking after. The cattle are valued at N$92 000.
None of the cattle has been recovered and police investigations continue.
The suspect was due to appear in court yesterday.
In another unrelated incident in Oshakati, three suspects were arrested through police intelligence for selling a live pangolin at the Yetu complex. The pangolin is valued at N$50 000. The suspects were due to appear in court yesterday.
