OTJIWARONGO – A 23-year-old man died instantly on Saturday morning at Okahandja after he was allegedly stabbed after a quarrel.
Namibian Police Force (NamPol) head of community affairs in the Otjozondjupa region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha, told Nampa on Saturday that the deceased was identified by his close relatives as Stanley Tjitavi Kamutua.
He was a resident of Vergenoeg location in the Nau-Aib township in Okahandja, where he was allegedly stabbed once in the chest with a sharp object in the early hours of Saturday between 04h00 and 07h00.
“Kamutua died instantly, and it is still not exactly known to us what led to the quarrel between the two,” said Mbeha.
A 26-year-old male suspect was arrested on the same Saturday, and is expected to appear in the Okahandja Magistrate’s Court this morning.
Police investigations continue.
