WINDHOEK – James Maswahu has been appointed as the National Field Sales Manager at Namibia Breweries Limited, the subsidiary of Ohlthaver & List (O&L) group of companies. Maswahu has been with the company for seven years. He joined NBL in Tsumeb in 2006 and started as a promotions coordinator – activating and managing the brand promotions in the areas of Tsumeb, Grootfontein, Rundu and Otjiwarongo.

“After seven months I was entrusted with a bigger responsibility when becoming area sales manager in the same region. After a short stint in this role I was offered an opportunity to move to Windhoek where I was responsible for the Katutura area as area sales manager.  In 2010, I was promoted as the manager responsible for maintaining our sales standards in the market and in June last year I took over the position of regional sales manager responsible for the central, coastal and southern regions,” said Maswahu.

Maswahu advised that employees should take ownership of their development and growth plans and also remain committed, hardworking and passionate about their jobs.  He adds: “O&L and NBL have been extremely instrumental in my corporate journey and for that I am thankful.  In particular I would like to thank Goose Goosen who has been and still is my mentor.  I must also say that our company does not just leave the purpose and values on a piece of paper but there is significant investment in programmes, training and workshops.”

Maswahu looks forward to the challenges of his new position where he will, amongst other duties, manage and direct regional sales managers to achieve retail sales through their sales targets and manage and motivate the sales force of 92 employees to constantly achieve or exceed the agreed operational and sales effectiveness standards.  “I look forward to creating breakthrough results for the company in all aspects of my job,” said Maswahu.
