Standard Bank Namibia has welcomed Tjivi Mbuende as the new head of public sector with effect from November 1, 2015.

“I’m excited about the new challenge and to be part of a bank that has been rooted in Namibia for 100 years. I am equally delighted to join at this juncture when innovation is high on the agenda,” Mbuende said.
In his new position under the personal and business banking department, Mbuende is responsible for engaging the public sector, strengthening partnerships and providing innovative solutions to clients.

He brings five years of experience in the financial services sector and a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the fields of public policy research, investment management and economic research.
Mbuende joins the bank from Investment Solutions Namibia Limited, where he held the position of chief operating officer. He was responsible for the overall strategic direction of the business and was intricately involved in developing value propositions for clients.

He was also an executive member of Alexander Forbes Group Namibia. As a member of the team Mbuende was involved in steering the strategic direction of the group. He currently holds a Masters in Economics from the New School University in New York, USA, gained in 2011. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Degree, specialising in corporate finance and marketing from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia, attained in 2009.
