Meat and Beer Festival promotes artists

Meat and Beer Festival promotes artists

The Meat and Beer Festival Volume 15 attracted more than 1 500 concert-goers, providing a platform for vendors to sell their products and for artists to showcase their talents.

Organiser Veneruru Mieze said the main purpose of the event is to be a business opportunity for vendors, upcoming and established businesses to make an extra dollar.

“This event serves as a unique gateway for vendors, both established and just starting, to promote and market their businesses. It gives them a prime opportunity to engage with a diverse audience and increase their visibility. In addition to benefiting vendors, the event is also designed to support artists by giving them a platform to showcase their talents and abilities as performers. This dual-purpose event creates multiple revenue-generating mechanisms,” said Mieze.

He added that for artists, the event serves as a vibrant platform to showcase their talents, encompassing music, dance, theatre and visual arts. The events started with a football match in the afternoon, before the entertainment part started a little later.

Hosted at the Eldorado Sports Field over the weekend, line-ups for the event included One Blood, DJ Spuzza, Ongoro Nomundu, DJ M Desh, Stakes Boy, Costa Die Laste Hond and many more.

“By presenting their work to an attentive audience, they have the opportunity to achieve recognition, which may lead to new prospects and an expanded following. This recognition can result in profitable performance contracts, collaborative projects, or paid engagements, all of which can significantly enhance their career development. In an environment where creative professionals frequently encounter difficulties in securing steady opportunities, such events play a vital role in offering essential exposure and avenues for income-generation,” he continued.

The Meat and Beer Festival is an event organised by Trail B Events, a vibrant and forward-thinking organisation comprising enthusiastic university students. Renowned for orchestrating numerous festivals across the nation, Trail B Events has established a strong reputation for delivering unforgettable, engaging and successful events.

Mieze said their talent for bringing together food lovers, craft beer enthusiasts and festival attendees exemplifies their commitment and diligence, with the Meat and Beer Festival serving as a notable illustration of their proficiency.

“This is an event where those involved do financially benefit, more of a part-time hustle of theirs. People think the festival is all about drinking alcohol and unwinding, yes, partially, but it serves a bigger purpose than that- it’s about putting bread on the table and making extra money for others,” he indicated.

Mieze added: “If we don’t host these types of events, where are our artists going to perform and where are our vendors going to sell their products? Events like these mean more than just recreational purposes.”

Meat and Beer Festival Volume 16 will be hosted at Otjiwarongo on 3 May 2025 and for the very first time, the festival is heading to the coast, Walvis Bay on 31 May 2025 at the Kuisemond Stadium.
