Metro Fresh and Metro Home were debuted yesterday in Windhoek’s Kleine Kuppe neighbourhood under the Metro Namibia umbrella. The two new stores under the trusted Metro promises to shift the manner in which consumers do their shopping.
“We have re-imagined store design and footprint so we can give customers more of what they love while incorporating features that build on our commitment to healthy, comfortable, and affordable living. We are aiming to elevate the in-person shopping experience further by launching entirely new store formats, namely Metro Fresh and Metro Home. These new layouts will give customers a distinctive reason to visit our trusted and tried Metro brand, and more importantly, give the right enhanced experiences,” reads a Metro statement.
The new exciting and efficient stores are housed in the Metro Hyper building in Kleine Kuppe, which now proudly presents a one-stop-shopping experience for many customers.
Metro stated it leveraged years of research and learnings to create both the updated store design and evolve its store strategy to debut the new expanded footprint.
“I am very proud of the work that our amazing team has done over a reasonably short period of time to bring these concept stores from an idea to reality. I am sure our customers will find these stores an exciting and pleasurable shopping experience,” said, Metro Namibia’s managing director Bryan Davis.
Davis added that the modernised Metro Fresh store offer includes an expanded full range of fresh and frozen products, farm fresh fruit and vegetables catering for all Namibians that suits everyone’s budget. This also includes a fresh and frozen butchery that provides local A-grade quality beef, lamb, pork, game, and poultry, import wet-&-dry aged meats and special boerewors types with many other meat cuts presented by the head butcher and his team.
Said Davis: “We cater for all requirements, from walk-in customers to bulk supply in the catering industry. Our Bakery, also located within Metro fresh, provides tasty breads and cakes baked from the finest ingredients, while the deli and Food Den stocks a great range of cold meats, cheeses, mouth-watering ready-made, delicious hot and cold take-away meals”.
Moreover, the Metro Home store caters for home-ware requirements which extrudes a specific reflection of personal design sense. This includes localised products, regionally sourced and imported exotic furniture to brighten any living space while fitting a specific budget.
Davis explained the store is designed with contemporary look and feel – great lighting ambiance with natural elements to create a welcoming and inspiring space for customers.
The two stores operate at the same trading hours as Metro Hyper for shopping convenience and with the same Metro service promise customers have come to trust for generations.
