Mighty Gunners Sports Club has officially reached an acquisition agreement with Beauties Ladies Football Club, fulfilling both Confederation of African Football (CAF) and Namibia Football Association’s regulations that require top-tier men’s football clubs to have an affiliated women’s team.
Club president Brigadier General Abraham Ngondela confirmed the development, announcing that Beauties FC will now compete as the Mighty Gunners Ladies Football Team starting from the 2025/2026 season.
Under the agreement, Beauties FC will be fully absorbed into the NDF Mighty Gunners Sports Club, with all registered players and officials transitioning into the newly rebranded Mighty Gunners Ladies FC setup.
Ngondela emphasised that the move ensures compliance with the CAF Sports Regulations.
“All male soccer teams at Premier League level are required to have a female team,” he said.
Beauties’ head coach Salome Iiyambo confirmed that the club’s name change will not affect its standing in the women’s league, describing the process as smooth and mutually beneficial.
“The agreement was reached in a friendly and amicable manner. The conditions were accepted, and we are all aligned and ready to move as one from the 2025/2026 season. We will now be known as Mighty Gunners Ladies Football Club,” she said.
Team vice captain Tulia Kahili welcomed the transition and vowed that the side is determined to defend its league title.
“I am happy with the decision made by management, and I hope not to disappoint my team as we join Mighty Gunners. Based on how we are preparing for the upcoming season, I promise that we will win the league again. I am proud to be the Mighty Gunners’ vice captain,” she said.
Meanwhile, the Mighty Gunners men’s team currently sits at the top of the Namibia Premier Football League standings, adding further stability to the club’s growing football structure.
The newly integrated women’s team will be based in Windhoek under the administration of 21 Brigade.
