Mining expo 2025 set to break records

The Mining Expo & Conference, Namibia’s premier mining industry event, will return to the Windhoek Showgrounds from 5 to 7 August 2025, with the country’s extractive sector.

Sponsored by Rand Merchant Bank (RMB), the flagship event has been expanded to three full days in response to overwhelming demand from exhibitors, investors, and industry stakeholders. The extended format aims to enhance opportunities for business-to-business networking, technical knowledge sharing, and broader public engagement.

Signa Andima Mining Expo Project Manager said, building on the momentum of a landmark 2024 edition, the upcoming expo is dignified to surpass previous records. Last year’s event saw exhibitor numbers increase from 168 to 196, while booth occupancy rose from 268 to 313, reflecting the growing confidence and investment in Namibia’s mining sector.

“A record-breaking 7 831 visitors attended the 2024 expo – a 31.7% increase from 2023 – solidifying the expo’s status as a key date on the national and regional mining calendar,” she said. The mining conference, scheduled for Wednesday, 6 August, will run under the theme “Mining for Namibia’s Future: Job Creation, Local Empowerment, and Economic Transformation,” and will feature strategic presentations on how the mining sector is positioned to contribute to national development, including value addition, employment creation, and supply chain empowerment.

“A panel will delve into sector-driven legacy projects since independence, demonstrating the industry’s commitment and contribution to community and infrastructure driven projects. Entry to the expo and conference remains free of charge, ensuring broad access for entrepreneurs, students, professionals, and the wider public. Special emphasis will be placed on engaging young professionals and graduates, bridging the gap between education and employment, and amplifying career pathways within mining and its value chain,” said Andimba.

The expo and conference continues to strengthen connections across the mining ecosystem, linking mining companies, projects, suppliers, innovators, financiers, educators, and policymakers.
