ONGWEDIVA – A 14-year-old girl from Omatende village, Ruacana constituency, in Omusati region, was allegedly raped and impregnated by a security guard.

It is alleged that the incidents occurred between January and June of this year. The incident was reported by the minor’s biological mother.

According to the Omusati police commander, Ismael Basson, the suspect had sexual intercourse with the minor on several occasions and impregnated her.

“The suspect is well-known by the complaint. He works as a security guard at Namwater dam in the same village as the victim. The suspect has not yet been arrested,” said Basson.

In another unrelated incident, an eight-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 15-year-old boy last month at Okalindi village in Oshikuku constituency.

“The suspect had sexual intercourse with the minor, who was alone in the house. The incident happened after the suspect went to the victim’s house to take a bath,” said Basson.

Police investigations in both incidents continue.
