Minor sodomised in Kunene

An 11-year-old boy was allegedly sodomised on Saturday while herding goats at Otjovihe village in the Epupa constituency of the Kunene region.

A 17-year-old suspect has been arrested, is expected to appear in court today, and will thereafter be released into the care of his
guardian or parent, police spokesperson in the Kunene region Vehangaiza Ruitel said.

The victim was allegedly in the field looking after goats when the suspect summoned him.

“He called him and ordered him to pull down his trousers, to bend down, and had sexual intercourse with him,” explained Ruitel.

He thereafter went to inform his older sister about the incident when he got back home.

The victim was taken to the Ohandungu clinic, where he was referred for an examination by the doctor at the Opuwo state hospital, who then informed the police.
