For Ellistine Morris (29), a born-again Christian, mother and native of Keetmanshoop, being last year’s Miss Namibia pageant make-up artist in Lüderitz was more than just a glamorous moment.
It was a life-changing moment of divine purpose.
Morris, who had the opportunity to do makeup for the Miss Namibia finalists during the crowning ceremony, described the experience as nothing short of miracles.
“It was a divine appointment, a door opened by God to not only showcase my skills but represent His excellence on a national stage that was incredibly meaningful,” she said.
Her passion for makeup artistry began years ago, but it was not until recently that she recognised her work as something deeper than just a career.
“Over the past two years, I realised that this gift wasn’t just a talent – it was a ministry. This revelation led me to rebrand my business from Fabulook with Ellistine Morris to The Divine Look, a name that reflects both my faith and my mission,” she remarked.
Morris’ inspiration stems from a desire to uplift women through beauty, applied with intention, love and humility.
“Beauty can be a tool to affirm, encourage and empower. When you place your gifts in God’s hands, He will elevate you in ways beyond what you can imagine,” she stated.
Morris started doing makeup in 2016 for friends and family.
She professionalised her art in 2018.
What drew her in was the ability to enhance natural beauty and boost individuals’ confidence.
“I was selected by the Miss Namibia organisation based on my track record, professionalism and the fruit of my work over the years. By God’s grace, my work has spoken for itself across the country. I have been doing makeup professionally for six years, and travelling throughout Namibia to serve clients in different towns, especially in the South. Each experience has been a blessing and testimony,” she said.
She added that it was a humbling and beautiful experience to serve young women who are stepping into their purpose.
Being given the responsibility to help them shine inside and out was deeply fulfilling to her.
“It challenged me, grew me and reminded me of why I do what I do. I give God all the glory for sustaining me through the intense schedules and giving me the strength and creativity needed,” she remarked.
Morris encouraged every young woman out there to embrace their God-given purpose – whether it is in beauty, business or any other field.
Do not despise small beginnings.
What starts in the secret place with God will eventually be seen on public platforms if you remain faithful.
The Divine Look is more than just a beauty brand.
It is a ministry, calling and a platform to let God’s light shine through creativity.
Miss Namibia and Miss Teen took place in Luderitz last year.
Prisca Anyolo was crowned Miss Namibia and Elaine Engelbrecht was crowned Miss Teen.
