WINDHOEK – United Africa Group has appointed Willem Mouton as Group Chief Executive Officer. 

According to a statement released by the company Mouton possesses a sound understanding of the vision and strategies of the United Africa Group having previously served as operations manager and group finance and administrative manager from 2002 to 2010. Effective 01 April Brian Rubenstein will take over as the chairman of the executive committee of the United Africa Group. He will manage this responsibility from Johannesburg, South Africa.

The United Africa Group (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1992 by Haddis Tilahun and was later joined by group chairperson Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun and the group has interests in manufacturing, trading, real estate, hospitality, energy production and services. “We truly believe in the African Renaissance and we give impetus to it by developing high growth and innovative service lines that meet the needs of the ever expanding African populace. In pursuance of continued growth and expansion, the shareholders and directors of the company have effected certain changes to the management and structure,” the statement from the group said. Mouton holds an accounting and finance qualification in conjunction with an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch.

He brings with him strong financial and fund management skills and with those skills can create growth for the group, which will build on its current entrepreneurial strength and human capital and take the group to greater heights.
