By Kuvee Kangueehi WINDHOEK The outstanding Mobile Telecommunication Limited (MTC) NFA Cup second round matches will be played tonight at the Sam Nujoma stadium in Katutura. The matches were postponed after the heavy flooding of Mariental which saw the roads through the town being closed. The teams were supposed to travel to Keetmanshoop but failed to make it and now will fight it out tonight to determine the rest of the quarterfinalists In the first match of the night promoted Cymot SKW will take on United Africa Tigers while African Stars FC will fight it out against Windhoek Optics (WO) Ramblers in the second match of the night. Meanwhile, Sydney Plaatjies looks set to become one of the club’s new acquisitions ahead of the 2006/2007 season. The Namibian international midfielder appears to have impressed during trials in the last couple of months, and could be signing the dotted line this week. Team Manager Kwezi Masondo confirmed the development, saying: “We are satisfied with Sydney’s quality and we have offered to sign him on a two-year contract after agreeing terms.” Plaatjies, an attacking midfielder from Namibia’s Blue Waters FC, has five international caps and three goals to his credit.
