WINDHOEK – Namibia Football Association (NFA) President, John Muinjo, has submitted a final report to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women Championships Organising Committee last Thursday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The CAF Standing Committees met earlier last week in the Ethiopian capital to report and map out the organisation of various CAF Competitions and divisions, and on Thursday, NFA President, John Muinjo, will deliver a report on the preparedness of Namibia in hosting the ninth edition of the CAF African Women Championships from October 11-25, 2014 in Windhoek.

“I briefed them on what we have done thus far since the last inspection and final draw events. How the venues are shaping up and other related matters. The report is very crucial indeed.” Muinjo states.

Muinjo adds that the committee will then dissect the report and map out a way forward and possibly order one more final inspection.

“Everything has to be done according to the guidelines set out in organising this kind of CAF tournaments and we also have to indicate how as a country and as an association and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) are handling the Ebola issue and so that is why collective national cooperation has been fundamental to the preparations for this championships. This (report) will be a defining moment but our confidence remains high that we get have the final green light once again” Muinjo explains.

Namibia opens the championship with a date against Zambia on October 11 at 17h00 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium while on the same day at 20h00, Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire clash at the Independence Stadium, both games from Group A.

Group B will play first games on October 12 at the same times (17h00 and 20h00), while Namibia’s second game will be on October 14 at 20h00, at the Sam Nujoma Stadium against Cote d’Ivoire before final group game on October 17 against Nigeria at 17h00 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium.

The semi-finals are scheduled for October 22 at the Sam Nujoma Stadium and the final for October 25 also the same venue.
