WINDHOEK -Three people who allegedly stabbed Nicklaas Narob, 18, who later died due to the injuries sustained on Saturday in Gobabis, were denied bail.
The three were denied bail when they appeared in the Gobabis Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The accused are Petrus ‘Judge’ Rapule, 22, and two 16-year-old boys who cannot be named by law as they are under 18. One is Petrus’ brother.
All three were remanded in police custody.
The matter was remanded to November 28 this year for further investigations, and to enable the three men to apply for bail, Omaheke regional crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner Chris Kalimbula, informed New Era yesterday.
Narob was stabbed five times with a knife in the face, neck, chest and back, and he died on Saturday at 01:40 in Kanaan location, in Gobabis.
It is alleged that a group of people were drinking alcohol together when an argument broke out. Narob and his nephew then walked away from the group, and the suspects together with two other men then followed Narob, and stabbed him five times with a knife.
He managed to walk a few metres from the scene before he fell and died, Sergeant Slogan Matheus, from the Police Public Relations Department told the media on Sunday.
