Muyoba wins accolade in Russia

Namibian student Marcious Muyoba achieved victory in the Olympiad Tasks in International Relations during the fourth International Olympiad on Financial Security that was held in Russia recently.

She was part of the Namibian team that took part in the fourth International Olympiad on Financial Security.

The team comprised students and
lecturers from the University of Namibia Namibia University of Science and Technology (Nust) and the Rundu Vocational Training Centre.

They engaged in demanding challenges across the fields of economics, law and international relations.

“This was my second time participating
in the event, so it was not as nerve-wracking as last year, but I was still slightly nervous because I changed my field this year (from Jurisprudence (law) to international relations),” the excited Muyoba told Youth Corner yesterday.

She stated that, on the whole, it was an excellent networking opportunity that has consistently paved the way for additional growth, learning and development.

“You know that feeling that superheroes have after saving a city? Yes, exactly like that. I am still in shock that I was able to achieve the highest score and win the gold. Seeing that this is Namibia’s second year participating and being able to achieve such a great win is unbelievable,” said the
student.

Born and raised in Windhoek, she holds a Bachelor of Culinary Arts degree from Nust, and currently serves as an assistant manager at a company located in
Windhoek.

The competition hosted over 550 participants from 36 countries,
emphasising education in financial, legal and cybersecurity fields.

The Olympiad provides avenues for internships and scholarships.

The event was hosted from 30
September to 4 October this year.
