The Otjiwarongo Municipality yesterday announced the appointment of Erikson Mwayekange as acting CEO for a period of three months.
Otjiwarongo mayor Gottlieb Shivute, in an interview with Nampa, said Mwayekange’s appointment follows the resignation of Moses Matyayi last month. Matyayi has been appointed CEO of the City of Windhoek.
Mwayekange is the strategic executive for community development services at the Otjiwarongo Municipality.
“Mwayekange’s appointment is effective from 1 August 2023 until November this year, or until a substantive CEO is appointed by the management committee of the municipality on a permanent basis,” Shivute said. He further stated that the recruitment process for the new CEO has started and is still in the preliminary stages. -Nampa
