KEETMANSHOOP – Three suspects arrested for allegedly defrauding the //Kharas Regional Council of N$1.4 million made their first appearance in court yesterday.
An employee of the Ministry of Education, Raimond Snewe, 32, a contractor Desmond Rudath, 41, and a Bank Windhoek employee at Keetmanshoop Hannalie Jacob, 34, made their appearance in a fully packed Keetmanshoop Magistrate’s Court to answer to charges of fraud.
The three face 10 charges each, ranging from fraud and theft to uttering, forgery, corruption and illegally disguising the origin of property.

The accused were not asked to plead and remain in police custody.
The case was postponed to May 13 for further police investigations and for Jacob and Snewe to get legal representation.
